Polar Wire's boat cable is specifically engineered for the demanding conditions of marine environments. It features 100% Class K fine-stranded copper conductors that are tinned to resist corrosion and electrolysis. The cable's white thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) outer jacket is highly flexible and durable, resisting saltwater, oil, gasoline, heat, sunlight, and abrasion. Additionally, the cable remains flexible even in cold conditions, facilitating easier installation in tight spaces.
UL Listed under UL 1426 (boat cable), our boat cable is certified for use in inspected vessels and compliant with ABYC standards.
Polar Wire's premium boat cables are rated for:
- Voltage: Up to 600 volts.
- Temperature: Up to 105°C (221°F) in dry conditions and 75°C (167°F) in wet conditions.
These ratings ensure reliable performance in marine applications.
Polar Wire offers both Triplex and DC Duplex boat cables in various configurations:
- Triplex Cable: Available in 10, 12, 14, and 16 AWG sizes with black, white, and green conductors.
- DC Duplex Cable: Available in 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 AWG sizes with red/black or red/yellow conductors.
Both flat and round profiles are available to suit different installation needs.
Class K stranding refers to the size and number of strands we use to construct our wire. To see the the stranding of our wire, have a look at our Class K Conductors Table (Resources). Class K contributes to our wire's superior flexibility and increases the conductivity of our by providing more strand surface area.
We construct all our wire with 100% Copper Stranding for utmost quality and conductivity. We stand by our dedication to quality utilizing only the finest conductor constructions to ensure our wire remains at the peak of performance in the wire and cable industry.
Yes. Polar Wire’s boat cable is VW-1 rated for flame resistance and meet CSA FT1 standards, meaning they can self-extinguish in the event of a fire, enhancing onboard safety.
