Engineered for demanding industrial and mining environments, Polar Wire’s 2kV Diesel Locomotive Cable (DLO) features a flexible, finely stranded tinned copper conductor insulated with a rugged EPDM rubber, providing outstanding thermal and mechanical protection meeting MSHA, UL, and CSA standards. Further, a heavy-duty, sunlight- and oil-resistant CPE jacket is extruded over the insulation for superior extreme performance in harsh, high-abuse environments.

Detailed Description
DLO - 2 kV Diesel Locomotive Cable features a flexible, finely stranded tinned copper conductor insulated with durable EPDM rubber, delivering excellent thermal and mechanical protection in compliance with MSHA, UL, and CSA standards. A heavy-duty CPE jacket, resistant to sunlight, oil, and abrasion, is extruded over the insulation to ensure exceptional performance in the most demanding mining and industrial environments. To aid in clean and efficient stripping, a polyester tape is applied between the conductor and the insulation.
DLO is suitable for use in wet or dry areas, conduit, ducts, troughs or trays, and where superior electrical properties are desired. The maximum continuous conductor temperature for normal operation is 90°C in dry locations and 75°C for wet.
DLO is especially suited to supply power to diesel-electric locomotive traction motors and heavy duty mining vehicles. It is recommended as portable cable for on-shore and off-shore drilling rigs, railroad and transit car wiring, electric earth-moving equipment, in shipyard applications, arc welder supply leads, power and control jumper cable, Telecom power supply and motor leads.
